The City of Norcross is seeking a Full-Time Storm Water Equipment Operator to start immediately.

The purpose of this position is the operation of heavy-duty equipment needed to make needed repairs.

The incumbent in this position will operate equipment utilized in the repair of water and sewer lines. The incumbent will also be responsible for stabilizing banks, creeks & ditches, and correcting erosion.

Operates a backhoe, front-end loader, trencher, air compressor and other tools used in making water and sewer line taps and repairs.

  Prepares trenches and lays pipe.

  Repairs streets and drainage ditches.

  Replaces water meters as needed.

  Cleans and maintains vehicles and equipment as required.

 Stabilizing banks, creeks & ditches. Corrects erosion.

  May be assigned as crew leader.

  Jets and cleans out stormwater infrastructure.

  Assists other departmental crews as needed.

High School diploma or GED and one to three years of experience.  Equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  Must comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Part 382 - Controlled Substances and Alcohol Use and Testing Policy.

  Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

  A valid Commercial Driver's License preferred.
