Clearwater Hydrology, a water resource engineering and hydrology consulting firm specializing in hydrologic and fluvial geomorphic investigations, flooding and stormwater evaluations, water resources engineering, watershed assessments, and stream and wetland restoration is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a full-time staff engineering/hydrolologist position in its Berkeley, CA office. CH staff perform the full range of water resource engineering tasks, including field hydrogeomorphic and water quality investigations and monitoring;, total station and RTK surveying; hydrologic, geomorphic and hydraulic analysis, modeling and design; preparation of technical reports, design plans and regulatory agency permit applications; and progressively responsible construction administration (channel restoration projects). The position is available immediately. CH's Berkeley office is accessible by public transit, including BART, from Oakland, San Francisco and other East Bay municipalities.
Position requirements include a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Earth Science or related discipline, good technical writing skills, and ability and interest in integrated field and design work. One or more years of consulting experience is a plus. The position also requires completed consulting background and/or coursework in fluid mechanics, water resource engineering, and hydrology and water quality. Exposure to fluvial geomorphology or river processes/sediment transport mechanics is a plus. Some experience with total station surveying and AutoCAD Civil 3D and a desire to partake in field construction supervision of stream restoration projects are also strongly preferred.
