Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Community Development, the incumbent will manage and oversee professional engineering staff, technicians and site development activities and associated inspections.  This position will ensure quality control and provide professional permit review services for development proposals on civil engineering and design, including grading/fill, and public/private infrastructure and utilities in unincorporated Kitsap County. 

The incumbent will provide advanced technical professional expertise in the monitoring, review and implementation of development codes pertaining to the civil engineering aspects for grading, survey, stormwater, erosion control, utilities and traffic.  This position coordinates extensively with other DCD permit review divisions for land use, environmental, building and fire, as well as other appropriate permit review agencies and County departments. This position will also be responsible for proposing, conducting public outreach and processing proposed amendments to development code pertaining to administration and review of development engineering and civil design.

FullTime (40 hrs/wk)  $37.75-$53.34 Hourly

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) and two years of supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering field and six years engineering experience including two years of supervisory or lead experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Note:  Engineering experience needs to be an industry specific certification such as a Project Management Professional, Professional Surveyor, Construction Managements Professional
