ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS

Day-to-day community development operations including site plan and subdivision plat review, subdivision construction plan review.
Review of site plans, rezoning's, subdivisions, etc. for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, Stormwater Ordinance (Non MS-4 locality), Chesapeake Bay Act and other local and state regulations.
Prepares correspondence for plan reviews, meets with developers to discuss proposed projects, plan review comments and provide assistance as needed.
Staff support for Boards and Commissions as directed. This will include preparing presentations to present to the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission. These meetings are held in the evenings, after regular office hours. Position will be expected to present and attend as directed (One to three times per month).
Independent and team work on a variety of special projects.
Ordinance technical engineering support.
Consults with officials of the state and federal government in order to coordinate all phases of planning and community development for the County.
Answers questions from citizens, contractors, developers and engineers concerning ordinance provisions and enforcement regulations. Receives and responds to citizen inquiries and complaints.
Performs related tasks as required.
