Elk Grove Water District is seeking qualified applicants to fill one (1) position as an Engineering Technician I in a full-time regular capacity. The Engineering Technician I performs a variety of technical related functions that include developing and maintaining the District's  Geographical Informations System (GIS); updating and maintaining the District's asset managment program; developing and maintaining the District's water model; working closely with the field crew to gather data for GIS; asset management and water model; providing contruction inspection of District projects; using AutoCADto develop drawings for projects and constructions details; and providing technical support to District operations.

9/80 Schedule - (All Staff, every other Friday off)

Ability to: • Manage multiple projects and priorities. • To work independently with minimal supervision. • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. • Analyze information and prepare a plan to render a desired outcome. • Work collaboratively with co-workers and foster the team spirit. • Prepare maps accurately delineating feature locations and boundaries on GIS; and troubleshoot and resolve problems. • Identify and interpret technical and numerical information. • Make mathematic calculations with speed and accuracy. • Prepare and present technical reports. • Know and understand all aspects of the job; intermittently analyze work papers, reports, and special projects. • Observe and problem-solve operational and technical policy and procedures. • Perform field/project inspections, sometimes getting dirty. • Use a telephone, write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. • Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD.
