This is a highly responsible managerial, administrative, and technical position managing the Stormwater Operations Section within Public Works. The Stormwater Operations Section is tasked with investigating citizen requests concerning the County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4), asset mapping, operating and maintaining the County’s open and closed conveyance systems and attenuation and treatment facilities, street sweeping, stockpile operation, and emergency response to flooding, roadway blockages, or damage. This position manages and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the section which includes 75 FTE; works with upper level management on critical issues and organizational policies; makes important procedural and operational recommendations to management to ensure maximum management efficiency and develops the operating budget. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Stormwater and Vegetation Management Division Director.
Position Specific Requirements
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible technical, professional, and administrative functions in stormwater operations associated with stormwater infrastructure management, regulatory compliance, community services, contracts management, systems development that includes formal supervisory training (1) year of team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, engineering, environmental management, accounting or related and 3 years of experience as described above.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
