The role of a Water/Wastewater Engineer is to work independently on smaller projects and as a team member of a larger projects under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. This role will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations and field work. The projects assigned may be broad, varied and diverse in scope.
Your Key Responsibilities
Planning, design, permitting and construction for water resources projects.
Assists senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
Engages in planning level project development and project benefit evaluation.
Develops cost benefit analysis for projects.
Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
Participates in quality assurance and quality control.
Participates in constructability review.
May lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
Participates in NPDES MS4 support for clients.
Works on multiple projects
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Candidate must have strong technical knowledge in stormwater projects
Self-Motivated with good work ethic are required
Self-confidence and strong people skills are needed
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and ICPR
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience.
Or the combination of education and experience to qualify for licensure within one year of hire.
Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
