The City is currently searching for a highly skilled, experienced and efficient professional to organize, supervise, and participate in the activities of one or more of the major functions in the Public Works Engineering Division.
The Recruitment Process:This position is open until filled. First review of applications will be Monday, April 1st, 2019.
The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process. The Qualifications Appraisal Interview is tentatively scheduled for April 18th, 2019. Successful candidates will be placed on the appropriate eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months. Principal Civil Engineer is a non-classified position not governed by the City of El Cajon's Personnel Rules - El Cajon Municipal Code Title 2, Chapter 2.64.050.
Education: Educational achievement equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering.
Experience: Extensive, responsible experience in civil engineering involving design, construction, survey and supervision.
Special Requirements: Possession of a California Registration Certificate as a Professional Civil Engineer. Possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a valid Class C California driver's license with a safe driving record.
