Salary: $10,819.47 - $15,145.87 Monthly
Under the administrative direction of the Director of Engineering and External Affairs, the Principal Engineer acts as the division head coordinating and supervising all engineering and technical services activities, including special projects, planning, design, construction and providing assistance to other Departments. The Principal Engineer manages and coordinates complex engineering projects; provides technical guidance and supervision to District staff, contractors, consultants, and developers and works closely with other District managers.
Candidates should possess six (6) or more years of increasingly responsible experience, with at least three (3) years of project management experience that included supervision, in a related field including the planning, evaluation, engineering and assessment of water and/or wastewater systems. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a closely related field is required. California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer is also required. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, public administration, business administration or a closely related field is desired.
