The Town of Castle Rock has an excellent opportunity for a Stormwater Conveyance System Supervisor to join the Castle Rock Water Department. Under general direction, this position performs supervisory and skilled technical work in planning, and coordinating the maintenance related to the operation, construction, repair and maintenance activities of the Town’s distribution, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Responsible for assisting with operational efficiencies, policy development and implementation relating to field services activities. Ensures safe work practices and system integrity for the protection of public health. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization.
Qualifications generally include a High School diploma or GED supplemented by five (5) years related work experience, preferably with at least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience. Extensive heavy equipment operations experience in all phases of pipeline installation, repair and replacement; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A valid Colorado Class A CDL driver’s license with Tanker Vehicle endorsement is required, or ability to attain within 6 months. A State of Colorado Class 3 Operator Certification in assigned discipline (Distribution) required and Class 3 Certification in unassigned discipline is preferred. Certification from AWWA Supervisory Leadership Program or ability to obtain within 1 year is preferred. Successful candidate must satisfactorily complete a driving record check and criminal background check prior to commencing employment.
This position is part of the Town’s snow removal program. This will include scheduled on-call responsibilities through the winter months to remove snow using a 4-wheel drive pickup and/or heavy equipment. Snow removal shifts are typically 12 hours.
