Under general direction within the Wastewater division, this lead position assists with implementing the City's stormwater management and Fats, Oil, and Grease (FOG) programs, inspects food service facilities and constructions sites, reviews plans to ensure conformance with city codes, standards,approved plans, and water quality regulations. Performs related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and
abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be four years of
responsible experience dealing with the public and working in the wastewater, stormwater, or
related water quality field. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associates Degree
from an accredited college or trade school in a related field, and experience working in a public
agency setting are desirable.
Licenses and Certifications
Must possess a valid California Class C driver license.
Requires the possession of or the ability to obtain a Qualified Stormwater Pollution Prevention
Plan Practitioner (QSP) certification, or equivalent per the California State Water Resources
Control Board, within a one-year timeframe. Examples of equivalent certifications include;
certified erosion, sediment and stormwater inspector registered through the Enviro Cert
International, Inc. (CPESC) or a certified inspector of sediment and erosion control registered
through the Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control, Inc. (CISEC). Further information
