Under general direction, the Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager I plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the operation and maintenance activities of the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and other designated wastewater treatment facilities in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Two years of experience as a supervisor in a wastewater treatment facility.
An Associate of Arts Degree in a pre-engineering curriculum; one of the biological sciences; environmental science; business administration, public administration, finance, accounting; or in a closely related field.
Either (1) Possession of a valid Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate, Grade V, from the California Water Resources Control Board; or (2) Possession of a valid Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade IV or higher certificate from the California State Water Resources Control Board and the experience and education for the Grade V certificate. The Grade V certificate must be obtained within three years from date of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, one of the biological sciences, environmental science, or a closely related field.
