The Department of Water Resources is seeking a Water Quality Compliance Specialist to coordinate the City's MS4 illicit discharge and good housekeeping/pollution prevention programs. A core function of the position is the ability to use investigative and monitoring skills to seek out and eliminate pollution from reaching local streams. This position works with a variety of internal and external customers on water quality education and protection initiatives, and performs a wide range of tasks requiring utilization of basic and specialized technical field and analytical methods. Successful candidate must be highly motivated with exceptional communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Work involves continual learning in order to understand and stay current on environmental compliance issues, enforcement strategies, and sustainable practices.
Bachelor degree in biology, environmental science, natural resources, planning or related field with some previous work experience (1-2 years) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
