Salary: $47,195 to $67,704
The hiring salary will be between $47,195.20 and $67,704.00 annually. This is a full-time, exempt, position. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. The Civil Engineer position in the Public Works Department's Engineering Division assists with and oversees the planning, design, and inspection of engineering projects for the City. Performs related assignments as required. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed independently with diverse functional areas and more expertise and specialized focus. Reports to the City Engineer.
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental science, or a related field from an ABET accredited school.
- Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate.
- A Virginia Erosion and Sediment Plan Reviewer certification is required within the first year of employment.
