Salary Range: AA—$5,042 to $7,464 and SAA—$5,886 to $8,745 per month

About the Position: The City of Hawthorne Public Works Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy at either the Administrative Analyst or Senior Administrative Analyst level for the Environmental Programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing and supporting environmental programs such as solid waste and recycling along with assisting Public Works with day to day Capital Improvement Project support and other various Public Works projects. The incumbent will conduct research, analysis and prepare recommendations on complex and challenging issues related to legislation mandates, programs and environmental issues for Public Works. The job duties involve administering grants for Public Works programs, administer and coordinate contracts, assist in preparation of department budget and capital improvement plan; oversee energy efficiency and water savings programs; NPDES inspections and reporting; oversee Sanitary Sewer Management Program; AQMD reporting; administering Used Oil Recycling grant and program; participate and represent the City at local meetings and coordinate outreach for Public Works and environmental programs. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social science, political science, environmental science, urban planning, public or business administration or a related field.

Two (2) years of professional experience in a staff capacity participating in research, analysis, administrative, organizational, functional or procedural problem solving. 

Six (6) years of professional experience in a staff capacity participating in research, analysis, administrative, organizational, functional or procedural problem solving.

Valid California Driver’s License 

Public Works and/or environmental programs experience is highly preferred.
